INTRODUCTION OF INSTITUTE

National Institute of Computer Sciences (NICS) Rawalpindi was established in 1990 to foster excellence in the field of computer science education in Pakistan. Located in the heart of Rawalpindi (with easy approach/access), NICS is the only institution in Rawalpindi/Islamabad which offers Diploma in Computer Sciences under the Supervision and technical guidance of Punjab Board of Technical Education (PBTE), as well as by the College of Central London (CCL) United Kingdom.

Our students have the option of studies for a PBTE Diploma in Computer Sciences or an International Diploma in Computer Programming and Information Processing from CCL Classes for International Diploma are held in line with the syllabus specified by CCL. The diploma is issued by the College of Central London U.K. after proper examination conducted by them. Students who take admission for CCL International Diploma are prepared for PBTE Diploma simultaneously without any extra tuition fee.

CURRICULUM
The Diploma courses are structured around formal theory classes followed immediately by on-hand practical training on computers.

STAFF
Headed by Director of Studies with an EDP experience of over 25 years, NICS has a large number of talented and dedicated professional teachers who are committed to excellence. Students get not only theoretical knowledge but also practical training from teachers who are actively working in areas of their expertise.

COMPUTER LABORATORIES/FACILITIES
The institute has two well maintained computer laboratories equipped with latest computers and software. It also has an additional Hardware laboratory with latest testing and repair/maintenance appliances. Class rooms are equipped with appropriate training aids including latest training videos on data processing. The Institute also has a well stocked technical library. It also has Internet and E-Mail facilities.
